The European Commission wants to further improve air traffic safety in Europe. Therefore, in consultation with the air traffic safety authorities of the member states, the Commission has decided to ban some airlines operating in European airspace. This applies to airlines that have insufficient safety procedures and/or those that are not sufficiently monitored by the authorities in their home countries. The European Commission has updated its list of airlines banned from operating in the EU.

The European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is a free card that gives you access to medically urgent public healthcare during a temporary stay in one of the 28 EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland, under the same conditions and at the same cost (free in some countries) as those insured in that country. The card is free and can be ordered from the Swedish Social Security Agency, Försäkringskassan.

Travellers to the US must apply for an entry permit, known as ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) no later than 72 hours before departure. It is the passenger’s responsibility to apply for and obtain an ESTA. Your passport will be read electronically at check in to check that you have an approved ESTA. If the details do not match, you will be denied entry to the US.
